Introduction
Since our beginning in 1993, the Graduate Institute of Art Studies has established itself as the first and leading Master of Arts program that integrates Eastern and Western modern art history in Taiwan. It has cultivated numerous young art historians and professionals in the arts and culture sector. As part of the College of the Humanities, the Institute has close relationships with the literature, philosophy, and history departments, and closely collaborates with the Art Center and Visual Culture Research Center. Students come from a variety of backgrounds and receive interdisciplinary and rigorous training in art history and visual culture studies. Our alumni fill top posts in university and high-school education and pursue successful careers in the fields of publishing, creative industry, galleries, museums, and public cultural bureaus, etc.
