Regulations on Course Requirements of the Professional Art History Program

1.The objectives of this program are to promote understanding of the history of the visual arts, to provide students with knowledge and basic academic training in Asian and Western art history, and to prepare them for careers relating to art appreciation, media, appraisal, and exhibitions and for further academic research.

2. Students from any College within this University may elect to attend a class in this program; students in inter-university programs may also do so in line with this University’s regulations.

3.Students who complete credits in accord with these requirements shall have the annotation, “Has completed XX credits of the professional art history program,” inserted into their grade transcripts and be issued with a professional certificate.

4. Students may elect to take individual courses in this program, but to obtain a professional certificate they must have completed at least 15 credits.

5. These regulations shall go into effect upon approval of the Instructional Affairs Meeting; the same applies for amendments.
